Moto Photo Blog-O-Rama: Butterflies

Photobucket

I know everyone’s had pucker moments on their bike, but how many of you have had butterflies? This pic was taken as I was going up the Mount Washington Auto Road. It’s pretty narrow, there’s no guardrail, there are dirt and gravel sections and the winds have reached as high as 231mph! On this day, the winds weren’t quite that strong but it still managed to blow me all over the road.
As I proclaimed in my ride report, (see the post “Not Billy Bragg’s New England”), it was the first time I was truly scared on a bike. Jackass that I am, I was still determined to snap off a few pics.

If you want to play the Moto Photo Blog-O-Rama game, here’s what you do –

* Post one of your motorcycle related photos that suit the theme on your own blog.
You or your motorcycle should be visible in the photo.
You do not have to duplicate the original photo.
* Caption or describe your photo. Tell us where and when it was taken. Maybe include an interesting note about it.
* Track Back! Include a link back to the blog where you read the Moto Photo Blog-o-Rama idea.
* Encourage others to play and credit your site!

The idea of MPBOR was conceived by none other than the fabulous FuzzyGalore.

  • That’s a nice shot.

The initial climb doesn’t seem like it would be anything significant, then once you get over the tree line the whole vibe changes. I totally understand what you’re saying about the butterflies. I felt them in my car driving up in the thick fog. I had to try to play it cool so that I didn’t make my daughter nervous, but i was scared!

I’ve yet to go up on my bike, damnit! One day…

  • LAS VEGAS DAN

I hope everything is ok with you golden child , it’s been a while sence you posted :( Be safe !

  • LV Dan – Thanks man, I really do appreciate the well wishes. Admittedly, July has been a VERY TOUGH month for me. As to why, in short, I had to put down my best friend; my 15 year old husky, my apartment became infested with little bugs that came from pigeons hanging out on my window sills (I had to throw most everything away – sheets, towels, pillows, clothing, shoes, mc gear, you name, I threw it away).

But now I’m back so not to worry. Thanks for reading!
